Who We Are

UVMC is a not-for-profit health care system serving Miami County and the surrounding area. UVMC was founded in 1986 as the umbrella corporation for the merger of Miami County’s three hospitals: Stouder Memorial and Dettmer hospitals in Troy, and Piqua Memorial in Piqua. A new hospital -- the Upper Valley Medical Center -- opened in 1998, consolidating acute care services to a central location within the county. The Upper Valley Medical Center is situated on a120 acre campus located just off I-75, between Piqua and Troy.

Upper Valley Medical Center today is part of the Premier Health Partners (PHP), a comprehensive health system serving southwestern Ohio through member and affiliate organizations in seven counties. PHP is dedicated to improving the quality of health by enhancing access to health services, expertise and information at every stage of life. Other PHP affiliate hospitals include Miami Valley Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton and Atrium Medical Center in Middletown.

The UVMC health care continuum provides comprehensive acute care hospital services, a full range of outpatient services including advanced technologies, therapies, after hours care, occupational health and the region's first outpatient surgery center. UVMC also has long term care centers with designated Alzheimer's units and residential living options, comprehensive rehabilitation services, cancer care, regional renal dialysis services, behavioral medicine programs, home health care services (the first home health agency in Ohio), community health/wellness programs and more.
